WIENER SCHMUCKTAGE 2018 International Festival for Contemporary Jewellery 6 – 11 November 2018 in different locations in Vienna
Two calls are now open for submitting application within the next WIENER SCHMUCKTAGE 2018!
The international WIENER SCHMUCKTAGE Open Call 2018 is addressed to all jewelry artists interested in showing their necklet piece in the MAK – Austrian Museum of Applied Arts / Contemporary Art.
Since 2016, the international Open Call offers ten jewelry artists, who are selected by a jury of experts, the possibility to introduce themselves to the public. Already for the third year in a row, selected jewelry pieces will be presented in the framework of the KICK OFF event in cooperation with the MAK – Austrian Museum of Applied Arts / Contemporary Art.
The ten selected necklets are shown for the entire duration of the WIENER SCHMUCKTAGE 2018 in the MAK Columned Main Hall. A guided tour with the theme “necklets” will inform about the participants of the Open Call 2018 and their presented works.
The WIENER SCHMUCKTAGE invites the public to join the KICK OFF event on Tuesday, 6 November 2018 at 7.30 pm. The event is intended as a networking occasion where programme partners, experts and jewellery lovers are welcome to get together and wear their favourite jewelleries.
The international open call for the participation in the Fab Atelier Jewellery Award is addressed to all jewelry artists who want to establish their own jewelry brand granting support in the value of 5.000 Euro.
FAB ATELIER supports with the Fab Atelier Jewelry Award young and talented jewelry designers, who are at the start of their careers and in process of establishing their own jewelry brand. FAB ATELIER further develops with the winner of the Fab Atelier Jewelry Award selected jewelry pieces in order to produce and market them.
The Fab Atelier Jewelry Award supports the development of a commercially successful collection to generate first sales.

From 6 to 11 November 2018 the programme partners of the WIENER SCHMUCKTAGE are going to present themselves for six days and in different locations in Vienna. In 2018, the presentations will span from innovative author jewelry, upcycling and recycling designs to paper, Corian®, porcelain, and horn made jewelry. Moreover, the festival will show sculpture, video and performance, as well as presentations of current jewelry collections from traditional gold– and silversmith’s techniques.
The WIENER SCHMUCKTAGE programme includes a range of exhibitions and presentations of current jewelry collections in galleries, jewelers’ shops and institutions. Through additional workshops, themed breakfasts with jewelry artists, guided themed tours as well as a lecture series, the festival addresses contemporary jewelry in a pleasurable way.
